Communications Contest

INSPRA's Communications Contest is the only award program in Illinois specifically honoring high quality school communications that promote the mission and message of the school district. This includes communication from all levels: district, school, college, foundation, and intermediate agency.

Awards of Excellence and Awards of Merit are presented to publications and other media communication that are exemplary in editorial content and graphic design. Entries are accepted every year for the annual INSPRA contest in May.

Each category is judged by a panel of expert communications professionals who are veterans in their fields. Judges consider writing style and clarity, how design supports the message, and whether the publications seem appropriate for its intended audience.

The categories are: annual report, financial information, calendar/handbook, marketing materials, newsletter, special purpose, other media, web site and writing. There is no limit to the number of entries that may be submitted, however a publication can be entered in only one category.

INSPRA also offers the Golden Achievement Award - our highest honor - to recognize best practices in every aspect of your school's public relations effort. Each entry must summarize on one page the four essential steps in all public relations programs: analysis, planning, execution & communication, and evaluation.
